Florida is Ready

Florida is home to a diverse business community serving a variety of industries. Widely known for tourism the state is also home to the space program, medical research centers, military bases, agricultural, and a budding high technology industry.

Florida is home to a number of major private and public universities including the University of Tampa, Saint Leo University, Florida Institute of Technology, Rollins College, University of Florida, Florida State University, and University of South Florida. These universities are known for exceptional research and education in business, medicine, agriculture, and technology among others.

Florida’s business friendly environment offers low corporate taxes and no state income tax. The state collects a very reasonable sales tax and provides valuable exceptions for services and advertising.

The Reedy Creek Improvement District located southwest of Orlando in Orange and Osceola counties is a privately owned municipality of about 25,000 acres formed in 1967 when the Florida State legislature created a special taxing district to act with the same authority and responsibility as a county government. The RCID is the only district in the entire world that provides this high level of autonomy for self government to a public for-profit corporation.

There is no organization operating in the state of Florida with a mission and structure similar to Conscious Capitalism Florida, Inc. As a state-wide organization we are able to transcend many of the limiting factors that Florida’s other economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and local governments regularly face.
